I am really finding it hard to write my blog post at the moment, hence these random few lines.
Firstly, I don’t know what to focus on - the new, or the old? As in, oh well today it went like this and this and this. Or as in, today it wasn’t like this or this or this.
Secondly, I don’t know what to call the “new places” - shall I give them nicknames, or shall I just call them by their recognised names? I mean, you all know that I used to leave from Waterloo. I suppose I should just stick to that form. I mean, it isn’t like these mainline stations are tiny places that you could easily pick me out in. But the new Little Place (which I think may actually be the name I use for it), sticking to the same form as before, really oughtn’t be named. It needs a nickname. Hoverfrog has asked that I pick this by holding a competition. I do like this idea, but I am not sure it will work. Names come from feelings. A name will only suit a place if it feels like the right name. And I am not sure you can get that from an online competition, but from experiencing it. So, the jury is out - what do you, the esteemed reader, think I should do?
Thirdly, I just feel totally out of sorts. I knew that it was going to be odd, but I just don’t feel like me. I am very teary at the moment. Even the slightest hint of what was is getting to me. It wasn’t supposed to be as difficult as this.

Cheer up Blue Soup! Take my word for it, Little City’s not worth crying over. It’ll all be better once the sun comes out again.
And don’t stop blogging - otherwise you’ll have me in tears.
A certain amount of discombobulation is expected when you have all this upheaval. Give it time to settle and you’ll be fine.
Look at me. I used “discombobulation” in a blog comment in entirely the right context. That makes me some kind of super genius.
With regards to the names struggle, I much prefer your nicknames. It gives your journey a more magical (for want of a better word) aspect. Don’t open it up to a competition, use what you think is right.
As to what to write about, I find a good [in my opinion] blog post flows out. If I have to force it then it doesn’t read well and I generally end up not posting it. Doesn’t matter if its about the old or the new, just let it flow
David - Thank you! What a lovely thing to say!
Hoverfrog - You know I only moved so that you would have a situation to write about where you could use that word easily!
TMC - Well, do you think that should apply to the Mainline station as well? Even though it didn’t to Waterloo??
Waterloo is exempt - its a terminating station. You’ve entered London, re-entered the world of the mundane. You’re nearly at work. Ditto leaving, its the portal to the magical world of Blue Soup, home of Little City, Little Place Without A Name and all the fun things in that world. Or maybe I read too much sci-fi and fantasy
TMC - but the new final stop is also a major terminating station… Shall it be the New Portal then and therefore be exempt like Waterloo is?
Waterloo is a magical place. I think there’s even a sign up that says so. Why else would so many people stand around looking up at those giant screens? Magic is the reason why. Magic.
I especially like the way that you can go anywhere in the whole world from Waterloo. You can even go back in time and visit dinosaurs. It’s true. Check it out tomorrow.
If only the last train back to Havant didn’t drain all the magic away before it got to Clapham…. Mind you, that would explain Croydon.
Croydon. Ugh. *shivers*
