The 'helpful' leaflets that I got sent whilst waiting for tests did precisely the opposite and by the time I actually had the tests I was a nervous wreck. There is no need for the use of the word "severe" when qualifying whether this is a severe or mild case is unnecessary - that is something that can wait until the actual colposcopy examination, surely?! And the leaflet, while I am sure they believe that they are giving access to all the information, it is all doom and gloom and leaves women like me - who are in all honesty PROBABLY going to be ok - lying awake at night worrying. In order to find out that it isn't the dire picture that the NHS has painted, me and millions of other affected women like me have to go onto the internet (which is also full of hideously incorrect information as well). I just think it is another instance of the NHS failing the tax payer (And the non-tax payer).
