oh, the glamour

We’re all sitting around the board table folding guestlists, scoring cards with scissors and stapling the two together. Tonight, we are holding our big annual do. Because we never spend money on useful things like outsourcing this mundane aspect of event management (and because Events Lady is about as organised as a goldfish so it’s too late to outsource anyway), the boardroom now resembles a sweatshop and we’re having to endure The Boss’s terrible jokes. Still, at least he is mucking in as well. Top marks.
Yeah. Communications and PR. It’s all cocaine snorting, champagne-fuelled, reckless partying, I can tell you.
*yawn*

I’m not sure that comparing the E-Lady’s organizational skills to those of a goldfish are entirely fair. A goldfish, after all, has great organizational skills; just a lack of things to arrange. I mean, how difficult is it to organize “a we’ll all swim over there now for a bit” event? Not all that tough. No wonder they have glum mouths.
I usually find the best part of my job is when I get to do the oddities that wouldn’t usually be expected to form part of my workload. I think it is the variety that is the spice of life… although, I don’t have to put up with your boss and his jokes… maybe my opinion would change were that the case
Take care of yourself

Do you get to dress up tonight all snazzy?.
Mas - Ah yes, you are quite right. What a terribly unfair thing to say about goldfish. I expect that they would be organisational demons if only they had the opportunity.
x
Fab - Sadly, not really. It’s a “straight-from-the-office” type annual do, so we have to look smarter than at work, but not all tarted up. I did wash my hair today though.x
sounds about as interesting as my day - well count yourself lucky you haven’t got a cold
You don’t wash your hair every day?
Dom - if you wash your hair everyday it gets very dry!
Dom - exactly what Venting said. Plus washing your hair and then drying it (would use a hairdryer) can damage it because of the overuse of heat and styling products. Plus it’s too long to wash every day.
And I prefer to sleep in.
urmm sleep
washing it too much would make it dry- people use conditioner to add moisture back into hair after washing. My hair and many other peoples feels nicer a couple of days after washing.
Mine starts to look greasy if I don’t wash it every day. Long hair is not an excuse, mine is long
I let it dry naturally which solves the problem of damaging while letting it dry and I use conditioners which means that the fact it gets washed upwards of 9 times a week (every morning, plus before I go out on weekends and every time I go to the gym) it’s not dry. I also tend no to put other products on it
But still, I appear to have been told so I’ll go away now
I wash my hair every day, but there again it is very short so it is hardly a chore
I’m of the washing hair every other day regime, especially in the winter when it’s too cold

I wash mine twice a day (most days) with a vigorous towelling being the only drying it gets [and the wind on the way to the station], and am under the impression that as hair is hydroscopic it will retain all the moisture that it needs naturally…
I wash mine every 2 to 3 days as it depends on whether i have got caught in rain, or even gone out on the razz, as to whether it needs it. As it is so long now (all down my back, pity it doesn’t grow on my head - ok, terrible joke, sorry!!), as many of you have seen, it is such a mission to dry it that I just can’t be bothered…
Nursey - on the way to the station… you mean, in the car… hmm
Mine just takes forever to dry cause it’s so thick, and I hate not blowdrying it cause then it’s curly, which I can’t stand.
If I washed my hair everyday it would be so dry and horrible! Once every 2-3 days for me.
I always find that senior people feel the need to muck-in whenever there’s a repetitive/mundane task going on in order to give themselves some sense that they’ve actually done something productive with their time that day as opposed to their usual swanning around “overseeing”.
And Blue - you don’t need cocaine - you’re hyper enough as it is!
I wash mine everyday. otherwise it gets to greasy…especially in the summer.
I don’t understand? If you’re cutting things up then where do the drugs come from and how do you have time to wash your hair?
Clearly I’m not cut out for PR.
Hoverfrog - it’s the drugs that they’re “cutting” and the cards being prepared is the price list/contact details to be passed on to the end user - direct marketing tactics et al!!
Well that makes perfect sense.
I’d never have guessed that Soupy was a criminal mastermind though. It’s that disarming smile of hers. I bet if the office got raided she’d be able to saunter out nonchalantly with a look of bemused innocence on her face.
