target beat (again)
6 December, 2007 by blue soup
Oh, I almost forgot (in the haze of dreaming of mass murder yesterday)… in the wee small hours of yesterday morning, my friend Ed donated £40 to my run for cervical cancer Just Giving page. I had wondered what he was doing awake at 1.44am, but have since learnt that he is in San Diego.
Anyway, I digress (who, me?). This £40 had me hit the £1,500 target mark for my fundraising efforts for Jo’s Trust. Big smiles all round. I have since had three more generous people dig into their pockets to take me to £1,540, including a friend of Dom’s who I don’t know. Very kind.
Of course, the target has been raised to £2,000 now… No rest for the wicked.
FM commented last night that he was impressed because quite a number of people have donated rather substantial amounts. So, it isn’t a case of people just donating because I have bugged them to give me a tenner (and I continue to bug people as well, for a tenner is three beers that their liver would thank them for not drinking in favour of putting it into my charity pot!), it is a case of people who care about me and the cause enough to make hefty contributions.
I just want to take a post to thank those of you who have sponsored me. Really, thank you. If you haven’t, no bother
but there’s still time to change your mind ![]()

Des is a nice bloke - next time he’s in town I’ll try and organise a drink with the three of us
Very well done
