I had a terrible night’s sleep last night. I was shattered when I hit the sack. I didn’t even bother drying my hair off after a hot bath, just collapsed under the covers and felt my heavy eyelids droop. But something woke me. And after that I was tossing and turning all night. I eventually gave up and got The Girls out for a play and watched episode 1 of Lost season 4 which has been sitting on my hard drive for ages. (Incidentally, I am not sure I rate season 4. I have forgotten a lot of what happened at the end of season 3!)
When I did manage to fall asleep, I woke loads of times through nightmares. I was feeling anxious last night. I am worrying about a few things and worry always affects my sleep, which is rarely good anyway. But it appears that loads of people had interrupted sleep last night. There are posts all over UK blogs talking of this earthquake we had last night, of it waking people up. Er, well, poppycock. I was awake much of the night. The earth didn’t move for me.
As a complete aside, people in south London clearly earn too much money. I have noticed that commuters disembarking from Southern train services all dawdle along at a pace that can only be decribed as “incredibly slow”. It’s like they have no real rush to get to work to earn their salaries. Mind you, Victoria tube station is always shut in the mornings through overcrowding, so I suppose there is no great need to hurry from the overland train carriage when you know you’ll only be hovering outside the entrance and clogging up the concourse for a further 20 minutes anyway. It just bugs people like me who actually want to get OUT of the station and on our way. The pain.

I found your site on technorati and read a few of your other posts. Keep up the good work. I just added your RSS feed to my Google News Reader. Looking forward to reading more from you.

Hmmm not EVERYONE is in a rush to get to work!
Even if i’m late, I hate rushing…..
I hate dawdlers too. Rar!
Sadly the earth didn’t move for me last night either.
Even at dawdle speed I can outpace the numpties who clog up the streets with their slow moving bodies. If I were less restrained I might bat them aside like so much detritus. Fortunately I am a calm and loving individual. I am a calm and loving individual. I am.
I like to clip the heels of people blocking the way. You can just say, oh sorry and push past them then. They learn the lesson if you do it a few days in a row.
I have become adept at working out a path past all the dawdlers and weaving/barging/pushing my way to my goal at a barely reduced pace.
Why are people in such a hurry anyway? Your work will still be there, no matter what time you get in.
I am in a ‘I HATE MY JOB’ mood today.
I couldn’t sleep either. Took 1 tylenol pm at 1:30 am and had weird/awful dreams too.
Hmmm…and I thought I’d had too much caffeine yesterday.
Mine’s sort of a “oh shit, I’m going to be late!!! I’m gonna get yelled at!!!” thing…
Ah yes, I remember when I had a job that I needed to arrive on time. Now I sort of wander in when I’m ready. The really sad part being that I now tend to get in earlier than I did when someone pretended to care about it, but now I guess I don’t have to contend with London mass transits and those that really shouldn’t be allowed on during rush hour
It’s sods law, if you want to get somewhere quickly, there will ALWAYS, without fail, be someone going at a snails pace in front of you. Snoooooozeeeeeee
I woke up around 1am after a nightmare but I didnt feel anything.
Sorry you’re not sleeping well Soupy, hope this passes soon.
