- I am certainly guilty of this.
In a bid to improve my liquid intake (non-alcoholic of course), I now have a 1 litre jug of water on my desk, a bottle of squash to make it palatable and I have chucked out caffeine - even though tea and coffee apparently now count in your daily water intake, caffeine worsens urinary problems, so it’s just not worth it. Instead, I have fruit tea.
All this has done is confirm for me is something I already knew. I fucking hate fruit tea.





Actually, water intake is the wrong thing to measure if you’re trying to prevent urinary tract issues, it’s more urine produced which means during the summer I’m on 4+ litres of liquid a day (bear in mind I’m not normal). What you’re wanting is light or clear urine, dark is bad. Of course, when you’re drinking that much you need to make sure you’re replacing the salts and what have you that are being flushed out of your system, so proper diet is also essential
Fruit tea sucks.
The nitrofurantoin that I am on at the moment means my wee is a weird brown colour!

I like fruit teas
well… some of them…. but you have to be patient and leave them to “infuse” a fair amount of time or they taste just like coloured water; oh - and lots of honey (or sugar)
Maybe I will send you some of the one I love here… It’s very very yummy.
Also, isn’t sqash loaded with sugar?
There’s a coffee chain here (Bridgehead) that put slices of orange in their water and it’s very good. Give just a hint of citrus…
Giving up tea and coffee really isn’t very hard. Have you tried Rooibos (Red Bush) Tea? It is naturally caffeine free and good for you too. It has permanently replaced my previous caffeine addiction.
Yes I agree that slices of orange, lemon or lime is much preferred over any types of fruit drinks or teas. Although I have no problems with drinking loads and loads of water.
