When I broke my wrist I had to have to huge pins sticking in my arm to keep the bone in place. The feeling of the metal scraping on bone wasn’t pleasant.

Oooh! Our son had one of those when he broke his thumb (Bennet’s fracture) playing rugby.
Removal was a deft ‘twist and pull’ with some pliers. A bit stingy for a while, but done with no anaesthetic or anything!
Perhaps this double pinning is more heavy duty though and will require more careful removal.

ewwww. my brother did the same thing to his hand and had to get it all pinned up. good luck with the recovery. he’s a-okay now =)
