Short one today. It’s a semi-whinge about weight.
First up, yesterday’s reports about Britney Spears frolicking in her white bikini on the beach in Costa Rica. BRITNEY PREGNANT!! BRITNEY FAT!!! BRITNEY LOSING HER FIGURE!! The headlines leapt out of the pages. If this girl is F.A.T then I am a whale and should have given birth months ago. If she is pregnant, then it’s very early days. I think she looks great. Happy, relaxed, great.
Secondly, and a little late for this rant as the blogworld and newspapers have already given that nasty piece of work Allison Pearson a good kicking for her attack on Princess Beatrice in the piece of shit that is the Daily Mail. Allison Pearson, hardly the picture of physical perfection herself, declared: “can’t someone buy that girl a sarong?” after pictures of a healthy-looking Bea emerged having a fab old time in the waves with her boyfriend. And the picture to which Ms Pearson took so much offense?
I wanted to blog about this when it emerged, but other stuff came up, you know how it does. Hadley Freeman in today’s G2 has done a wonderful job though. The media take any opportunity to snipe at the Fergusons. They hated Fergie and now it’s spilling over to her daughter who is the spitting image of her mother, complete with social gaucheness. I love Fergie, she’s wonderfully human, struggles with her weight and self esteem, and is awkward but honest. I watched The Duchess in Hull last night and some of it was dreadful stuff, her naivety at how some people live, yet she seemed so good hearted and that always comes out in interviews in magazines and on the TV. She was absolutely right to speak out against Allison Pearson and Pearson shied away realising what a mistake she made. Bea isn’t a tiny girl by any means, she’s got curves and hips for childbirth (as my mum says) but we need to see more REAL looking girls in our magazines and on our TV screens.

I’ve only heard good things about Britney’s latest bikini pics…that mental papparazzi bloke who runs getti images on GMTV yesterday was saying how good she looks.
As for Princess Bea…you know what, that girl looks like a super skinny mini compared to the absolute horrors I saw last time I went to a beach frequented by brits abroad. Serious. Anyway…I hated reading all the criticism about her too, it was uncalled for and just plain spiteful.
i thought Bea looked sexy and womanly (gasp - as if thats allowed these days) - she’s not fat - i see no fat rolls or disproportinate figure - just a healthy looking hourglass figure i’d love to have!

my favourite is when magazines describe someone as ‘curvy’ all the while having a picture of a celeb who is no bigger than a 10-12. Just becasue most of them are a 4-6, that doesn’t make a 10-12 CURVY!! ffs it pisses me off.
the worst i saw was ‘Britney PILES on 6lb’ 6lb?? honestly, PILES? you can lose 1lb just by having a shit!
oh AND, sorry to speak about Americas Next Top Model, but a ‘plus size’ girl just won…which i’m all for, horry and all that, but if this is plus size, then i’m a monkeys uncle

End of part one of tonight’s Duchess in Hull… and Bea is brill and I still think Fergie is great too. She’d make a great aunty.
Fergie would be one of those mad aunties that you only ever see at Christmas.
Come to think of it, Christmas in the royal family must be a bit weird anyway, what with granny on the TV and stuff.
