Sad news, readers.

You may recall that Sybil now has a tumour. Last time she went to the vet, he said to take her home, look after her and keep her comfortable in her old age. There’s nothing that could have been done.

The Mechanic took her to the vet yesterday. I’m afraid that the time has come to say goodbye. Her back legs aren’t working very well and she struggles to get around. I had to truss up a water bottle inside the cage right near the tube where she sleeps because she finds it hard to get up.

Mentally, she’s still perky. When I get her out, she pulls herself about the place, always on the go.

I knew that things were getting bad though because I had found some blood in the cage. The vet told The Mechanic that she’s probably feeling uncomfortable about now. I told him, before he took her in, that if the vet said she needed to be put down, to do it and not worry. We have to do what’s right for her. The vet said it didn’t have to be immediate.

We are taking her in tomorrow at 9am together.
